u/digital_smarthome is a fantastical video about the past, present, and future of suburban land development. It considers the materials that make a home, such as spruce or pine and reanimates the spirit of these materials in house form. The video begins with altered archival photographs of the vast southern pine forests that once spanned the United States, reimagined and animated using AI. u/digital_smarthome represents a liminal space between mystical and ordinary. It becomes a threshold to different stages of being, connecting the past, present, and future.
The project has been presented at Dallas Aurora and featured in Gulf Coast Literary Journal, where its stills appeared on the cover and in a portfolio spread.
